Job Description:
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Power BI Admin at Abotts. We are seeking a skilled Power BI Administrator to to join our Enterprise Technology team and provide SRE support for the Power BI service and all upstream and downstream services related to Power BI. You will work closely with the Enterprise Data Platform team and other stakeholders to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the Power BI service and its data sources. You will also be responsible for managing the Power BI admin portal, security, governance, and compliance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and troubleshoot the Power BI service and its dependencies, including data pipelines, data sources, data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Implement and maintain SRE best practices, such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, postmortems, and root cause analysis.
- Manage the Power BI admin portal, including tenant settings, capacity management, usage metrics, and audit logs.
- Enforce security, governance, and compliance policies for the Power BI service, such as data classification, data protection, data retention, and data access.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Platform team and other stakeholders to provide feedback, requirements, and solutions for the Power BI service and its data sources.
- Provide guidance and support to Power BI users and developers on best practices, standards, and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated on the latest features, updates, and trends of Power BI and related technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Power BI Administrator, SRE, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI service architecture, components, and dependencies.
- Proficient in Power BI admin portal, PowerShell, REST API, and DAX.
- Experience with SRE tools and frameworks, such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, PagerDuty, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline technologies, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc.
- Experience with data security, governance, and compliance standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- This role requires availability for night shifts as needed to support global teams and ensure system maintenance during off-peak hours.
- Night shift responsibilities may include monitoring system performance, addressing urgent issues, and implementing updates or changes to the Power BI environment.
